Howdy! It’s the 2nd week of December already! Christmas will be here before you know it! It definitely feels like Christmas – it’s definitely winter in Houston (well, today anyway!) – bbbbrrrrrrrr, it’s cold.
We haven’t seen the sun for a couple of days now and it made me think of warmer days and beautiful sunsets. C. Baron was lucky enough to shoot Jessica and Ben’s wedding a while back. You may remember them from the engagement session post HERE – we went to Murski Homestead in Brenham for their session – that’s where Ben popped the question.
Their sunset wedding ceremony was held at a charming venue just north of Houston in Willis – Shepard Hill Estates. Everything from the old farmhouse full of antiques to the hunting dog and shotguns just screamed (or, at the very least, yelled loudly) TEXAS!!! Jessica looked absolutely stunning in her lace gown, and the guys – well, you can see by the images, they had a great time prior to the wedding! They gave new meaning to the term ‘shotgun wedding’ – love the images of the guys in their suits and shotguns. Classic.
There were a few new twists at their wedding, too. We photographed our first cheesecake buffet (instead of wedding cake). They had jars of homemade green salsa (Jessica’s color) for favors. They also did a Love Letter & Wine Box Ceremony. Huh, you ask? Instead of sand or unity candle, Jessica and Ben wrote secret love letters to each other, then locked them in a box filled with glasses and a bottle of wine – to be opened during their first big bump in the road. They can read the letters and remember all the reasons for being married. Or, if there are no disagreements, to be opened and shared upon their 5th anniversary. You can find out more about the ceremony HERE. So unique and very fitting for these two.
Please enjoy the images from Jessica and Ben’s Texas Chic wedding! Loved how the girls rocked their cowboy boots for the reception. Did you notice the image of the boot filled with cash? Even the boot knew that it’s all about the ♥love♥, baby! Lisa
