I know I am not the first, or the last – but I am utterly obsessed with chandeliers right now. My very patient husband is so over chandeliers. I think I have chosen one for nearly every room of our house. Some of my favorite chandeliers lately are the ones in Crystal Springs’ new Southall. They are so gorgeous! The first time I saw them was at Staci and Taylor’s wedding. It was love at first sight for the chandeliers and me – but this is Staci and Taylor’s love story, not mine.
We barely made it in the doors of Crystal Springs when we started hearing thunder. All the chairs had already been set up and were ready to go in hopes that the ceremony could still be held outside. On this day, I was to take some shots of the guys before the First Look. As we were getting ready to head outside, Taylor kept saying, “I really hope it doesn’t rain. Staci will be so disappointed.” I thought this was so sweet and kept my fingers crossed for the storm to blow by. However, no sooner than we made it outside, the rain started. I’m not saying, drizzle or a light rain. I mean torrential downpour kind of rain. I could see the concern on Taylor’s face, but his groomsmen, who were all Aggies, kept the spirit up. It was obvious how happy these guys were for Taylor as they built him up and told him how happy they were for him. Taylor still made the occasional comment about being worried about Staci being upset about the rain. I just thought this was so sweet and it made my heart so sad that they couldn’t get married outside.
Then, it was time for the first look. My favorite part of the day! Staci and Taylor were absolutely overjoyed to see each other. You could literally see the nerves and anticipation melt away from their faces the minute they locked eyes! Unsurprisingly, not long after the First Look, Taylor told his bride, ”I’m so sorry about the rain…” Staci simply turned with the most relaxed demeanor and said, “Oh it’s no big deal.” It was very obvious that the rain had no effect on Staci. She was so ready to just marry the love of her life, who was so worried about her happiness. In my opinion, being able to witness these little moments is my favorite part of weddings.
Staci and Taylor said their vows in front of the stairs inside of Crystal Springs, proving that the backup plan can be just as beautiful. Once the reception had commenced, it was obvious that the rain wasn’t going to stop this party. There was a lively anniversary dance where the winning couple not only gave us advice, but a few good laughs. With all of the Aggies in the house, of course the Aggie War Hymn was played and that got everyone on their feet. As the night came to a close, Staci and Taylor’s guests sent them off with an abundance of bubbles. We are wishing Staci and Taylor the very best in all of their adventures together.
